March the 7th was to be a big night for Jack Flatley, he was due to fight Anthony Fowler at the Manchester Arena. Unfortunately injury during fight week put a stop to that. Ben from SimBoxx caught up with Jack recently to discuss the injury and future plans.
BJ – Jack, what a shame it was with the injury! How are you now?
JF – Thanks Ben, I’m a lot better now. A few weeks of rest using a fracture boot has helped.
BJ – If it wasn’t for COVID-19 what would be your time frame for return?
JF – All being well and shows go back to normal, I will be ready for late May early June. If not then when all this Corona disappears, I’ll be ready.
BJ – How had camp gone for the fight? And what did you make of your replacement?
JF – Camp was brilliant, I took it on 3 weeks notice but felt fitter and sharper than ever. I was in a really good place, so it was hard to take having to pull out. The opponent they went with wasn’t up to much but it was short notice and I would rather see Anthony (Fowler) fight than not.
BJ – Harry Scarf if you only loss, you then came back to beat Warren. How was the loss to take?
JF – The loss I took surprisingly well. I got straight back in the gym and got on with it. I believe I did enough to get the win and I could have sat around sulking about it, letting time pass me by, but I’m not about that.
BJ – Now the 0 has gone, has the pressure?
JF – I always put pressure on myself as I want to reach the top! Don’t get me wrong though, a little pressure has gone!.
BJ – Do you want the Fowler fight next or have you got anyone else in your sights?
JF – I still really like the Fowler fight, however I don’t mind. I want a big fight though and ideally a televised one.
BJ – There’s so many fights out there at the moment, which one do you want to see and why?
JF – Joshua V Fury, we ned it ASAP. I don’t see a point in the Wilder rematch.
