Former 3 weight World Champion Mikey Garcia is looking to take over his 4th division as he takes on former Welterweight World Champion Jesse Vargas. Garcia tried to move up to 147lb and take on Spence but unfortunately was outclassed by the bigger and better man. This time we will be able to see if Garcia can make an impact at the weight as Vargas is a live opponent but is not on the level of the champions. This fight is expected to go 12 rounds and if Garcia wins expect him to fight for the WBA (Super) Welterweight Title in Saudi Arabia In July against the legend Manny Pacquiao.
I think Garcia has the speed and skill to win on a clear points decision.
Joseph Parker returns in an absolutely nothing fight against Shawdell Winters which he has had Carlos Takam in for sparring so yes he has had harder sparring that what this fight will be. Tune up fight at best.
WBC Flyweight Champion Julio Cesar Martinez defends his title against Jay Harris now Flyweights are usually the less exciting divisions but this Martinez is a true baller the man can crack and he fights in true mexcian style this could be a war.
I expect Martinez to stop Harris in 9 rounds.
Finally MY FIGHT OF THE NIGHT the living legend Chocolatito fights Kal Yafai for the WBA (Super) Super Flyweight title now Birminghams only ever world Champion has never been to this level before but Chocolatito is an aging fighter who has a ton of miles on the clock. This is a fight that is between Englands longest reigning world champion and a former P4P great this should be exciting Yafai has never been in these waters before so many questions will be answeres about both fighters is Yafai at this level? Does Chocolatito have anything left in the tank or was the two losses to Rungvisai just a blip in his fantastic career. I am going to take the risk because I am from Birmingham and say
Yafai by SD but I am not confident in that prediction.
