Lomachenko v Lopez - The Expert Predictions

October 17th - The Winner Takes All! The great Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko, holder of the WBA, WBO, WBC ‘Franchise‘ titles clashes with 23 year old IBF champion Teofimo Lopez in what is arguably the best fight since the resumption of boxing post lockdown.

Luke at SimBoxx reached out to get some expert predictions for the big fight...

Andrew Moloney, former WBA super flyweight world champion -

This is a very interesting fight and one I am really looking forward to watching as Im a big fan of both fighters. I believe Lomachenko’s boxing IQ and world level experience will be the difference in this fight. I expect Loma to use his boxing skills and great footwork to out box Lopez and win via a Unanimous Decision.

Chris Jenkins, British welterweight champion -

I think Lomachenko is the best P4P fighter out there right now so is going to be very hard to beat. Lopez has been very impressive and can make a fight of it here and possibly have some success but for me, Lomachenko works him out and breaks him down for a late stoppage

Jay Harris, Commonwealth flyweight champion-

Lomachenko wins, I just think his skill set is unreal, I can’t see anyone beating him

Billy Nelson, boxing trainer -

Lomachenko wins by stoppage

Sam Eggington, super welterweight contender -

The way he’s going it’s hard to go against Lomachenko, I think Lopez will put up a good fight a bit like Lomachenko vs (Jorge) Linares but in the end he will just land too much too often and pull a late stoppage off.

Tom Farrell, super lightweight contender -

I think this is Lomachenk‘s toughest test yet but it will bring the best out in him. I think he wins on points in a cracker, Lopez does look the real deal but Loma is special.

Bradley Rea, undefeated prospect -

I think it’s impossible to bet against Lomachenko at this point, he just seems to be so much better technically than anyone in the game. I like Lopez and think he’s the best out of the young lightweights on the rise but think this is just a step too far too soon for him. Lomachenko UD or maybe even late stoppage.

Natasha Jonas, world title challenger -

I honestly am not sure because if Lopez lands he can win but landing is easier said than done with Lomachenko. So just on that I would have to say Lomachenko. There's a bit of bad blood too so he'll want to finish it but I'm not sure he does.
