Undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor has been a true trail blazer for women’s boxing, winning world titles at two weights, a multitude of amateur titles culminating in an Olympic gold medal in 2012.
At those Olympic Games she defeated Natasha Jonas, Jonas herself a stand out flag bearer for female boxing. Taylor turned pro in 2016 a year earlier than Jonas & a rematch between the two in the paid ranks has long been desire, it finally goes down May 1st, here we got some breakdowns & predictions from some of the leading figures in female boxing...

Tash is a very actuate puncher and she will just pick your pocket all night with fast counters. What Katie does best is high volume punching at speed which I believe could be to much for Tash. But if we have learnt anything in 2020 it’s never write Natasha Jonas off!

My prediction is Tasha via stoppage or Katie by a point decision!

Taylor v Jonas is an exciting fight especially as it’s a rematch from their amateur days. It’s a difficult one for me as I really like Tasha’s style and my heart goes with her but my head says Katie’s going to win it on points due to her speed and combination punching.

I think Tasha fought well against Terri Harper and I think she causes trouble for Katie Taylor on Saturday. I think if Jonas fights her fight she could come away with a points win. I love both fighters and both will turn up for a great fight I can’t wait to see it.

So I feel this fight will go the distance and Katie Taylor will win on points. I believe Tasha stands her best chance of success early on and if she puts the pressure on she causes Taylor problems as we seen against Persoon but I believe Taylor’s technical ability will be the decider as the fight goes on.
