Conor Benn vs Chris Van Heerden - The SimBoxx Preview

This Saturday Live on DAZN from the Manchester Arena, we have the return of the always exiting prospect Conor Benn, as he faces off with South African challenger Chris Van Heerden for Benn’s WBA Continental Welterweight Title.

Conor Benn (20-0-0) vs Chris Van Heerden (28-2-1(NC))

Conor Benn has become one of the most loved fighters in British boxing recently, due to his charismatic personality and more importantly his exiting style in the ring.

Benn comes into the bout off the back of an emphatic 4th round knockout win over former title challenger Chris Algeri most recently, prior to that Benn took just a round to blast out Samuel Vargas in outrageous fashion before securing a shutout points decision against the always tough Mexican Adrian Granados.

But this matchup seems like a bit of a step back and feels very underwhelming for Conor Benn against Van Heerden who has been inactive since a head clash that stopped his bout with Jaron Ennis in the first round back in December 2020.

Aside from that Van Heerden’s only step up in class was against now p4p top 10 Errol Spence Jr, in which he was completely outclassed, dropped twice before eventually being stopped in the 8th back in 2015.

Prediction:

I’m not sure if this is a tick over fight, with Benn and Matchroom knowing he has a big fight pencilled in or not, but I can’t help but think this will be a very comfortable night for Benn and wouldn’t be too surprised if we see a knockout very early.

With that being said, I am going to go for a Benn stoppage in the 2nd round.
