Move over Football, UFC and Formula 1 because BRITISH BOXING IS BACK!! And its back with a brilliant Super Bantamweight contest between Brad Foster and James Beech for the British and Commenweath Titles this Friday night, thanks to Frank Warren and BT Sport.
David Adeleye (1-0-0) vs Matt Gordon (2-2-1)
We begin the night with the big hitters, the Heavyweights, where we see the London based prospect David Adeleye take on 35 year old, Matt Gordon.
David Adeleye is a well thought of Heavyweight prospect and didn’t disappoint in his debut with a first round TKO victory over Dmitrji Kalinovskij who is known to be pretty durable, getting stopped only 11 times in his 65 losses prior, albeit at Cruiserweight for the majority.
Matt Gordon started his pro career with back to back victories but has since had a draw and back to back losses, one of which was the Debut TKO victory for Dorin Krasmaru, who is also on this card.
Prediction: Stoppage win in rounds 1-3 for David Adeleye.
Dorin Krasmaru (2-0-0) vs Phil Williams (3-24-1)
We follow up the opening bout with another Heavyweight Contest, this time in the way of Ukrainian Dorin Krasmaruand the Brit, Phil Williams.
Coached by Martin Bowers, Krasmaru comes into the contest off the back of 2 stoppage wins to begin his pro career. DorinKrasmaru is highly thought of in the Heavyweight scene, especially by sparing partner and in my opinion, the most explosive and exciting Heavyweight prospect on the planet, Daniel Dubois.
Phil Williams is a durable heavyweight only being stopped 3 times in his 24 loses and they were at the hands of Kash Ali, Fabio Wardley and Lucian Atana, so a stoppage here for Krasmaru at such an early point in his career would really show us where he’s at.
Prediction: Stoppage win in rounds 1-3 for Krasmaru.
Mark Chamberlain (5-0-0) vs Stu Greener (3-4-0)
The entertainment continues, as exciting southpaw Mark Chamberlain takes on ‘Little Canelo’ Stu Greener in a 6 round Lightweight Contest.
Turning professional at just 19, the 21 year old Mark Chamberlain comes into the bout with a 5 wins from 5, while stopping 3 of his opponents.
Like his favourite fighter Lomachenko, Chamberlain is a very slick southpaw and a fighter I am excited to watch his career unfold.
Stu Greener is a very underrated fighter and one whose record doesn’t reflect his abilities, who last time out ended the unbeaten record of Tyler Davies in a 6 round points win, while also having a notable 3rd round TKO win over 8-1 Nathaniel Wilson.
Prediction: A potential banana skin for Mark Chamberlain and in my opinion the biggest chance of an upset, although I believe he will do enough to get the victory on the night and I am very intrigued to see Chamberlain’s career unfold. Stoppage win for Mark Chamberlain
Hamzah Sheeraz (10-0-0) vs Paul Kean (12-1-0)
The penultimate bout will be an absolute cracker for the WBO European Super Welterweight Title, as we see Hamzah Sheeraz put his unbeaten record and European Title on the line against Scottish southpaw Paul Kean.
Hamzah picked up the Vacant WBO Super Welterweight Title last time out, with a 6th round TKO victory over Ryan Kelly, the 4th stoppage win in a row as the young 21 year old is finding his ‘man’ power and looking more and more exiting in each fight.
Scotsman Paul Kean is coming off the back of taking 2 unbeaten records in as many fights, with points victories over Tom Brennan and Ohio Kain Iremiren and if he is able to continue the trend, he’ll be rewarded with the WBO Super Welterweight European Title for the troubles.
Prediction: Sheeraz is a really impressive prospect and one I see stopping Paul Kean in the middle rounds.
Brad Foster (12-0-2) vs James Beech Jr (12-0-0)
The main event could be a cracking little fight between unbeaten Super Bantamweight technicians Brad Foster and James Beech in a Walsall Derby.
After back to back bouts with Lucien Reid, Brad Foster comes into this contest looking to win the British Title outright.
After being a former Kickboxing champion, the young 22 year oldburst onto the boxing scene without even having an amateur fight and picking up the British Title in just his 11th fight, beating 40 fight veteran Josh Wale by Unanimous Decision.
James Beech Jr. is coming into the fight with very limited experience also, although he did pick up the vacant Featherweight Midlands Area Title last time out beating Luke Jones. During his 12 fight career so far James hasn’t really found his weight class, jumping around between Super Bantam, Feather and Super Feather and even having a but at Super Lightweight. He’ll hope this will be the defining fight in which he finds his weight class and the British and Commonwealth Titles to go with it.
Prediction: Although both young fighters have very limited experience, I believe the level of opponent Brad Foster has been in with up to now will give him the edge. I believe he will outsmart Beech Jr. to a unanimous decision, with a possibility of a late stoppage.
